 President Ferdinand Marcos declared July as Nutrition Month under Presidential Decree No.491, signed on June 25, 1974, according to the National Nutrition Council. This decree aimed to raise awareness among Filipinos about the importance of good nutrition. Fifty-one years have passed since the declaration of Nutrition Month —thankfully, it still strives and spreads awareness among Filipinos, especially students.
