Highschool Day: A Day Filled With Sweat, Joy And Celebration

Image
It really felt different than usual to be at school the day before High School Day. Just by entering the classroom, we'd know what everyone was there for to get the props done and be ready for the party. The room had all kinds of stuff lying around paper, cardboard, tape you name it. The people who were there doing different things some were cutting shapes, and a couple were wondering how to put all the materials together. Even though it shouldn't have been a big deal for anyone, that kind of untidiness normally shows that people really work. I wanted to help a lot but I couldn't because I had journalism training. Still, I tried to do a little with the small tasks whenever I had the time. Though I was not there the whole time, I could plainly see the camaraderie in the classroom. Everyone seemed like they would even help each other to make sure the props would be finished. Some friends even kept the focus for a long time, adjusting the details, and fixing the parts so the w...

Blueprints and Dreams

Image
Thinking about my dreams, I get very happy and a little serious. Being an engineer is my big dream, and I want to contribute to making the world a better place. I am fascinated by how things are done and enjoy solving puzzles. Since my family supports my interests, I am putting a lot of effort into my schooling to make it happen. This year I am a Grade 10 student and studies are my main concern, especially Math and Science. One day, I see myself working at a very interesting technology company  Hopefully I will even start my own business. Besides that, I am also planning to help those in my community. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/7c/46/85/7c4685caeefbb48e061d3cbde900c61f.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/736x/d5/b9/08/d5b90813b4495fc262351357133260fe.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/736x/56/40/a6/5640a62660fa5f5896d909adc0540233.jpg

Valentine's Day: Flowers to Certificate

Image
Valentine’s Day, celebrated every February 14, is often associated with romantic love and couples. Instead of focusing solely on dating, Valentine’s Day can be a time to honor the people and journey that bring joy, pride, and inspiration into our lives. This year, Valentine’s Day became extra special for me because I was recognized for achieving with honors. Receiving this recognition on a day dedicated to love and appreciation made it even more meaningful, it reminded me that hard work, perseverance, and dedication are forms of self-love.  By changing the focus from dating to recognition, Valentine’s Day becomes a unforgettable celebration of achievement. It reminds us that love, in its many forms, is what truly binds society together. Whether through a kind word, a small gift, or a certificate of honor, everyone can feel seen and valued on this special day.   On‍‌‍‍‌ January 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM, Vigan’s streets were bustling with people for the Longganisa Streetdancing Competition . However, the students from Ilocos Sur National High School were the main attraction. They won the championship by delivering a very unique and moving performance that gave new energy to the city’s ancient ‍‌‍‍‌traditions. The‍‌‍‍‌ city was bursting with excitement on January 23, 2026, when Vigan was the venue for the Bigueño Agtubtubo Clash of Talents , a thrilling and intense talent night that confirmed the young Ilocano stars are already here. It was such an incredible night that in addition to the local talents having a fierce battle of skills on stage, the guest artists turned the place into a concert hall, with the smooth tunes of Dionela and the spectacular vocal range of Gigi keeping the crowd from going home until the very ‍‌‍‍‌end. Around‍‌‍‍‌ the time of January 24, 2026, instead of street-dancing down the lane Vigan City stood fo...

A Journey Has Ended But a New Path Has Opened

Image
During the Third Quarter, I learn a lot of new things that help me grow not only in school but also as a person. I was able to understand more about the lessons discussed in class and how they are connected to real life situations. I also discover that learning is not just about memorizing, but also about understanding and sharing your own ideas. This quarter helped me realized how important education is in shaping our thinking and values. Even though I gained many learnings, I also experience some problems and challenges. One of the biggest challenge I faced was managing my time properly, especially when many activities and projects are given at the same time. There are moments when the lessons are hard to understand and I feel confused or stress. Sometimes, I also struggle to stay focus during long discussions and activities. To deal with these challenges, I tried to change some of my habits. I started organizing my tasks and doing my works little by little so I won’t get pres...

The Power of Words: How Jose Rizal Change a Whole Generation

Image
José Rizal’s greatest contribution to Philippine society lies in his powerful writings, especially Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo . Through these novels, he exposed the abuses, corruption, and injustices of Spanish colonial rule, opening the eyes of many Filipinos to the realities they were living under. His works helped awaken a sense of national identity and pride, inspiring people to seek change and eventually fueling the movement that led to the Philippine Revolution. Beyond his role as a writer, Rizal was a true polymath—a doctor, artist, scientist, and intellectual who deeply believed that education and awareness were the keys to social progress. Rather than promoting violence, he pushed for peaceful reform and unity, which he actively pursued by co-founding La Liga Filipina, an organization dedicated to advocating social reforms and strengthening Filipino solidarity. Today, Rizal’s legacy continues to resonate with Filipinos. His ideals of social justice, national unit...
